Section 1: Atmospheric Perspective and Color

- 6 paintings completed to a moderate level which demonstrate an awareness of the topic.
- 12 additional quick studies examining the subject in both an illustrative and photographic context.
- Focus on the content of the light and atmosphere, ie. interior/exterior, smoke, sun, fire, floodlight, rain. Many substances and light sources affect visibility in unique ways.
- Focus on how surface color is affected by atmosphere.
- Focus on how abstraction and simplification of form are created by atmosphere, and how this effect is utilized in the studied imagery.
